Freud on major/minor decisions

Freud replied: “When making a decision of minor importance, I have always found it advantageous to consider all the pros and cons. In vital matters, however, such as the choice of a mate or profession, the decision should come from the unconscious, from somewhere within ourselves.”
that quote has stuck with me, perhaps I first read it in this Feb. 2006 letter to the editor of the NYT.

I like the “multi-model” approach advised by your pal Charlie Munger, which in this case could include both the analytical and intuitive perspectives. But I would probably weight them differently depending on the kind of decsions, as per Freud.
